AKC Champion Turenne, French Import, AKA:"WARRIOR"
Warrior is the foundation Stud Dog at Gebeba Kennels and the sire of numerous AKC Champions throughout the USA. At age 14, Warrior won the Veteran Dog Class at the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen Natioal Specialty Show in 1996. He also won the Veteran Dog class at both the New York PBGV Specialty Show and the Eastern Regional PBGV Specialty Show, that same year.
Lenora Riddle, AKC Judge of the Eastern Specialty Show, had the following to say about Warrior in an article she wrote in DOG NEWS:
..........My next biggest thrill was the 14-year-old Veteran Dog, Ch.Turenne owned by Mr.and Mrs.George Barth.......My eyes were filled with happy tears, as well as almost everyone at ringside, when Ch.Turenne went around the ring. Here was a 14 year old happy dog, with his head held high, tail a wagging, and showing the crowd one of the basic reasons they were attending their National Specialty! What a grand old guy! Did you see him smile? He stole my heart.
We could not have said it better ourselves! He is a grand old guy, He smiles alot, and He has stolen many a heart!
