IMPORTANT PUPPY MILL LEGISLATION NEWS
There is a legislative battle going on in Pennsylvania ( former home of GEBEBA). If you watch the OPRAH Show, you may have seen a recent show centered around the Puppy Mills in PA. I want to make it very clear that we want these puppy mills shut down, FOREVER. These puppy mills have been an ongoing atrosity that no one wants to see thrive here or anywhere in the United States.
However, I need your help to spread the word that the efforts made by some activist groups, to shut down puppy mills, will take a devasting toll on ALL kennels, inclucuding those of the reputable breeders in PA and across the country unless we fight for the rights of these reputable breeders and their dogs. These activist have hidden agendas and literally millions of donated dollars. Money donated by well intentioned people who have been deceived.
I'm talking about kennels like mine and our friends, who breed dogs for hunting, performance and exhibition. If you are wondering how the dog laws could hurt the reputable breeders, after all, we have high standards and work dilegently to conform to the law, please take some time to read the articles posted in the side bar.
If you have donated to PETA and HSUS in the past, I implore you to read these documents. You may find you were deceived by their hidden agenas. Now, if you are looking to help put the Puppy Mills across this country out of business, here are some groups you may want to invest in. These groups are working hard to protect your right to own animals, our rights to breed them and to expose the true agenda to much of the animal legislation going on all over the country.

Jim Scharnburg is the master of the Skycastle French Hounds, a pack of PBGV hunting in Chester County, PA. They are the senior basset hunting pack in the United States. They started in 1948 and are now in their sixtieth season.
Jim is also the breeder of AKC CH Skycastle

Thank you for the kind letters and offers to help with the placements of the Pine Edge PBGVs. I am glad to report that all the girls are placed in wonderful homes, either with one of their friends or another PBGV. Its comforting to know that so many were willing to help. It is with great sadness that I write to tell you that our friend Dorothy Clinton of Pine Edge Kennels passed away on November 7, 2006 with Ovarian Cancer.
Adult PBGVs in need of loving home.
Dorothy was a special lady who genuinely loved each and everyone of her dogs as much as they loved her. I know in my heart that she will find all of her dogs that passed before her awaiting her arrival at rainbow bridge and it will be a joyous reunion.
Dorothy left behind 5 wonderful PBGV girls ranging in ages from 7 to 9 who now need special homes. They will come with emotional baggage as they have lost a dear friend and to add to that, they will be seperated from the only home and doggy friends they have ever known.

We've been having some predator problems on the farm and have been losing our guinea fowl and chickens due to predators. The last straw was when a fox killed about a dozen guinea fowl and Bob, our peacock, last week.
Even though the pbgv's would be more than willing to take care of a fox or two, they would also do in the poultry. This leaves us two options, get a rifle and shoot the fox or get a livestock guard dog. We opted for the dog :- )

RIDDLE starts off his show career in a big way. His first time out at Boardwalk KC he was awarded his first major. Then just one week later at the PBGVCA - NY Specialty Show he garnered his second major, where he was awarded Winners Dog, Best of Winner and Best Puppy.

We sold our home in Bensalem PA and purchased an 18 acre farm in New Castle Delaware. There is a sturdy two story farm building with a 2nd story deck which has a magnificent view of the marshes surrounding our high grounds, this structure will be used as the main kennel building. The previous owners raised Ostrich & Emu. These big birds were kept in 20' wide by 100' long runs with running water, electric and a lean-to for cover. These will be our play areas.
