Guy is learning to stack and stand still for examination but insist on high stepping it through the wet grass!
The earthquake is over, the tornado passed us by, Irene has gone away and finally the grass is dry enough to play outside. Pictured are Punkin x Dude pups at 7 weeks old.
This little beauty is Skycastle Salsa, she is a daughter of Ch Gebeba’s Leisure Suit Larry, and she is one of my all time favorite Skycastle girls. I took this photo of her standing in our backyard, she is just captivating to watch. Not only is she stunning and smart and sweet, she is one of the best hunters in the Skycastle pack. She is being bred to Cezar.
GCH Gebeba’s One Lump or Two. On July 8, 2011, Sugar became an AKC Grand Champion, thanks to her best friend, Janice Kopp. Janice fell in love with Sugar as a baby, Janice followed her at shows as a puppy and just could not get enough of her. Well almost not enough, once we titled Sugar to her AKC Championship , we sent Sugar to Janice to grow her up, now Janice had all of her. They were inseparable and so Janice took Sugar back to the show ring and by her efforts, Janice showed and handled Sugar to her Grand Championship title. The next step for Sugar is motherhood, Sugar will be bred to Cezar this season.
“DUDE” was winners dog at the PBGVCA National Dog Show for 2011. For those not familiar with show terms, the winners dog is the best of the non-champion males. This years esteemed breeder-judge was Mr Nick Frost of Dehra Kennel fame, it was truly an honor to receive this award.
The week following, Dude went to the Celtic Cluster Dog shows where he was awarded BEST of BREED at all 5 shows of the cluster. This culminated in the completion of his AKC Championship title.
We also extend our congratulations to “TEXAS” on her BEST IN SHOW win at the 2011 PBGVCA Nationals. Texas is the daughter of BIS, BISS, Ch Gebeba’s True Grit.
Gebeba is not just PBGVs anymore! Welcome Guyard and Spring, they are Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen, GBGV. They arrived in the US on Betty’s birthday, June 14, 2011. It wasn’t planned that way but what a grand way to celebrate a birthday with the arrival of the grands! Pictured here the day after their arrival in the USA. Guy is a tricolor, though at first look you may think he is orange & white, check out the black ring at the base of his tail. He is a very handsome boy of 5 months old. And Spring, she is a tricolor too, though much heavier colored, she is 4 months old and has the prettiest head with oohhh so long ears she still trips on them!
AKC CH Gebeba’s Jolly Roger. Roger is the first from the Black Pearl litter to complete his championship. Roger is just a year old and will take some time off from the show scene to grow and mature before heading back to the show ring to work towards a grand champion title. Roger is the son of GCH Gebeba’s Rio Bravo, his dam is Gebeba’s Black Pearl.
New title for Dude on May 8, 2011. He is now an AKC Grand Champion, making him, GCH Gebeba’s Rio Bravo !
Cezar de la Font Francaise
Cezar spent his first 4 years in France. He was exhibited in regional and national shows where he received nothing less than an excellent card, he also received numerous passing scores in hunt tests on both rabbit and deer in France.
He is pictured here on his first romp on american soil. Look for Cezar at dog shows in our area later this year and you may also catch sight of him in the field at upcoming PBGVCA Hunt.
Gaillac is our new baby boy from France. He was bred by Jean Yves Chatalais. His sire is D’Amour des Rocs du Plessis and his dam is Ukraine des Roc du Plessis, a littermate to Nick and Rory.
He was born on March 20, 2011 and was just old enough to come home with Betty on her recent visit to the French Nationals. His brother, Gallion, kept him company on the flight back and is living with Logan Mazenac.
